In 1993 when Frank Feyns, the dutch owner of the Bunaken Island Resort came for the first time to Bunaken Island, he immediately fell in love with the beautiful landscape, the nature and the native people liv ing on the island.
In 2007, Frank then bought this wonderful piece of land and started to create and realize his life's dream. By now, two grand villas, six spacious bungalowshave been built and restored in the famous Indonesian Minahasa Style; presenting a fabulous island resort, yet being carefully embedded into the natural environment.
Based on our mission to protect and revitalise both the natural environment and the community in which we live, a very unique eco-resort has been created on this amazing island in the middle of "paradise", as we like to call it.
The Bunaken Island Eco-Resort (BIR), is fringed with the spectacular powder-white Liang Beach (the only long sandy beach) protected by a stunning clear lagoon, shelterin g one of the world's richest and best diving coral reef, being only a few fin-kicks into the sea.
Being a smaller-sized and to the detail arranged resort, the BIR is more then other resorts, able to offer you a very special and to your individual needs tailor-made exclusive diving, snorkeling and sun/beach vacation. So you definately want to come back, over and over again.
